Foxwoods Announces New Poker Tournaments

MASHANTUCKET, CONNECTICUT, USA (Poker Uncensored) — Foxwoods Resort Casino has announced two new recurring poker tournaments. Starting on August 11th, Foxwoods will hold a Thursday morning event staring at 10:10 AM. The $160 buy-in no-limit Texas Hold’Em Tournament will allow registration and re-entry until the start of the 8th level, and will feature a 30,000 chip stack with 20 minute levels.  On Sundays, starting July 31st, Foxwoods will replace its current $500 buy-in tournament with a $360 buy-in no-limit Texas Hold’Em event. This tournament will feature a 40,000 chip starting stack, with the first 9 levels being 25 minutes and remaining levels 30 minutes. Players will be able to register and re-enter until the start of the 10th level.  The addition of the new tournaments brings Foxwoods up to having three tournaments a week, which is still shy of the four tournaments a week held at their closest competitor Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut. A Georgia Woman Abandoned Her Kids to Play Poker

HOLLYWOOD, FLORIDA, USA (Poker Uncensored) -- A Georgia woman is facing charges of child neglect after allegedly abandoning her children in the parking garage of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino to play poker. According to charging documents, 33-year-old Icese Laporsha Simmons of Albany, Georgia spent approximately 3.5 hours in the casino while her children were left in a car parked in the Lucky Street parking garage. The children, ages 4, 10, and 12, were found by Seminole Tribal Police at approximately 3:30 AM after a report was made about children asleep in a car in the garage. The car was not running, leaving the children without any air conditioning. Ms. Simmons returned to her car after 4:00 AM and was arrested.  At arraignment in Broward County, Florida court Ms. Simmons was charged with three counts of child neglect. Her children are currently in the custody of the Florida Department of Children and Families, and she was ordered to have no contact with them by a Judge.

HOT DOG REVIEW: World Series of Poker Café Hot Dog

This is the first of a series of reviews of hot dogs at poker venues across the world. Each hot dog will be reviewed and scored on several criteria, including quality of the hot dog itself, cooking and presentation, and price/value.  Introduction A hot dog was put as an offering on the menu at the World Series of Poker Café for players at Bally’s and/or Paris Las Vegas this summer. The WSOP is said to be the most prestigious poker event in the world, but would the hot dogs offered at the WSOP match the prestige? The Review Quality of Meat - 3/10: The WSOP Café hot dog was simply underwhelming in quality of meat. They did say it was an all-beef hot dog, but it certainly was no premium hot dog. Quality of Cooking - 5/10: These hot dogs have nothing in the cooking process that would add any flavor. They’re not charred or seared. They were at least cooked properly.  Quality of Bun & Toasting - 2/10: The bun was not toasted, but somehow ended up being very dry. Not good at all.  Qualit
